Since its establishment in 1944, the Golden Globe Awards have been a place to wear exquisite and expensive jewelry. The 2011 Golden Globe Awards, which were held last night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, had its fair share of elegant and opulent jewelry pieces adorned by actors and actresses alike. Although many of the attendants wore jewelry with diamonds, few wore sapphire jewelry. Tina Fey, Jessalyn Gilsig, and Christina Aguilera were among the few who were seen wearing sapphire jewelry at the glamorous event.

Tina Fey, who was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series-Comedy or Musical for 30 Rock wore sapphire jewelry from Lorraine Schwartz. Tina wore diamond and blue sapphire blackened platinum earrings with 40-carat pear shaped sapphire drops (shown below), a 60-carat diamond and blue sapphire platinum bracelet, and a 12-carat blue sapphire blackened platinum ring. Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, who is known for her role in the MTV reality TV series, Jersey Shore, recently announced that she is launching her own custom jewelry line. On New Year’s Eve while Snooki was inside an over-sized NYE ball in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, she wore a limited edition pendant from her jewelry line. The sterling silver pendant is adorned by 21 created pink sapphires and will sell for $49. Snooki encouraged her fans to purchase her pendant saying, “Make sure you come and pick it up because you know what, it’s friggin’ awesome.” Jersey Shore is currently in its third season on MTV.

Soccer star David Beckham and his wife Victoria are expecting their 4th child in the summer of 2011. When asked about additional kids, fashion designer and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham said, “I think one day, if we’re blessed to have more children, it would be amazing. It’s a lot having three boys … But who knows, one day?”  The celebrity couple already have three boys together Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz who are ages 11, 8, and 5, respectively. David and Victoria, who have been married for 11 years, are reportedly still “very affectionate.” Recently, Victoria tweeted, “Thank u so much for your kind and beautiful messages!!! we are all so happy and very excited!!!!!! x vb x”

The third installment in the Twilight movie saga, Eclipse won four People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday night in Los Angeles. Eclipse came through with the PCA’s for Favorite Movie, Favorite Drama Movie, and Favorite On-Screen Team. Kristen Stewart was named Favorite Movie Actress for her role as Bella Swan. She attended the awards show with boyfriend and co-star Robert Pattinson, while fellow co-star Taylor Lautner attended the event as well. Both Rob and Taylor were nominated for Favorite Movie Actor and Favorite Movie Star Under 25, but they lost in both categories to Johnny Depp and Zac Efron, respectively. Stewart was surprised in her win as she beat Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston.

Recently, Christina Aguilera was spotted wearing a new ring, but according to People Magazine it is not an engagement ring. The ring was given to her by her boyfriend of three months, Matt Rutler, a production assistant. Matt gave Aguilera the ring for her birthday, which was on December 18th. The couple met while Christina was filming Burlesque. Christina, 30, was married to music producer Jordan Bratman for five years, until their divorce in October 2010. Aguilera and Bratman have a two-year-old son Max together.

According to a source, it is very important to Christina that Max and Matt would get along well. Therefore, Christina introduced her son to Matt on an outing to the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. The source said, “Christina took Max on the fun outing so he could bond with Matt.” The couple celebrated Christina’s birthday and New Year’s Eve together at her Beverly Hills home with the singer’s friends and family.

Natalie Portman, 29, has announced her engagement to choreographer Benjamin Millepied and that they are expecting a child. The intimate wedding ceremony took place on May 22, 2010 at their Los Angeles home with close friends and family. MC Souleye, 30, is a rapper from Boca Raton, Florida. Morissette was previously engaged to Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds between 2004-2006. The newlyweds have been dating since October 2009 and this is the first marriage for both. According to Perez Hilton, Morissette is pregnant and this was a small, shotgun wedding.

Selena Gomez graduated high school twice, in reality and in a film. On Monday, May 10th, Selena’s Facebook status announced, “What are the odds……Today I graduated from high school and got my diploma!!!!! Country singers Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are engaged to be married. On May 9th, Shelton surprised her with a marriage proposal “over a couple of Bacardi and Diet Sprites,” near Miranda’s home in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.
