Actress Lindsay Lohan’s 3-year probation was extended by a year due to lack of attendance at alcohol-education. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel extended the probation in order for Lindsay to finish the court-ordered alcohol-education program from her 2007 DUI case. Revel said that she is “rooting” for Lohan to finish the program as well as her probation, but made it clear that no future disruptions and absences from the program will be tolerated. “This is the last time we will be talking about re-enrolling,” Revel said. “Anytime you request a leave of absence for more than 21 days, you must get court approval. If you don’t do that, the deputy district attorney will be asking for jail time.” Revel added that only work-related absences will be tolerated as long as they are pre-approved by the court. In the past two years, Lohan has completed only about half of her required alcohol-education classes: 15 of 26 required individual classes, 13 of 26 group sessions, and 13 of 28 self-help classes. On the positive, she has finished all six of her alcohol-education courses. These absences occurred due to Lohan’s rigorous, time-consuming schedule, which includes filming a movie in Texas, working on a documentary about child trafficking in India for the BBC, promoting her Ungaro clothing line, and recording an album.
