Country singers Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are engaged to be married. On May 9th, Shelton surprised her with a marriage proposal “over a couple of Bacardi and Diet Sprites,” near Miranda’s home in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Miranda,26, loved that her fiancé popped the question, “so Southern and old-school and perfect,” in which Blake asked for her father’s blessing prior to the marriage proposal. Shelton, 33, chose a gorgeous diamond and platinum engagement ring on his own. Miranda stated that she was “so proud of him. We’ve been together five years, so he knew exactly what I wanted but it’s so much more perfect than I could have picked out myself.”

The couple also received CMT Music Awards nods on the morning of May 11th. Miranda was nominated for two awards for “White Liar,” Female Video of the Year and Video of the Year. Blake was nominated for one award, Collaborative Video of the Year for “Hillbilly Bone”.

Miranda stated that she can’t wait to be married, “Weddings are great and engagements are great and diamonds are especially great, but I’m just excited to be married because I want to tell Blake I really can love him the rest of my life and be happy and make him happy.” We wish the couple the best of luck with the upcoming CMT Music Awards and suggest that Blake should purchase a pair of pair of glamorous, natural sapphire and diamond wedding bands from The Natural Sapphire Company for their future wedding.
