Online reports, including People Magazine are assuming that Actress Penélope Cruz, 35, and Actor Javier Bardem, 40, are engaged. Their assumption is based on the large and beautiful, blue natural sapphire and diamond sapphire ring that Penélope wore in New York on October 13, 2009, while attending the 47th Annual New York Film Festival.

The couple have been dating for two years, choosing to keep a low profile; they rarely attend award shows or walk red carpets together. They have worked together in the films Jamón, jamón (1992) and in Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008). Neither Cruz’s nor Bardem’s reps confirmed the engagement. Cruz, 35, admits that she believes in “family, love, and children,” but not in marriage. In addition, she denied rumors that she is pregnant. In the Spanish edition of Marie Claire magazine in April 2007, Cruz stated that “Of course I want to have kids. I want to have my own kids, but also adopt.
