Since its establishment in 1944, the Golden Globe Awards have been a place to wear exquisite and expensive jewelry. The 2011 Golden Globe Awards, which were held last night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, had its fair share of elegant and opulent jewelry pieces adorned by actors and actresses alike. Although many of the attendants wore jewelry with diamonds, few wore sapphire jewelry. Tina Fey, Jessalyn Gilsig, and Christina Aguilera were among the few who were seen wearing sapphire jewelry at the glamorous event.
Tina Fey, who was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series-Comedy or Musical for 30 Rock wore sapphire jewelry from Lorraine Schwartz. Tina wore diamond and blue sapphire blackened platinum earrings with 40-carat pear shaped sapphire drops (shown below), a 60-carat diamond and blue sapphire platinum bracelet, and a 12-carat blue sapphire blackened platinum ring. Check out a magnificent replica of Fey’s ring, a 14-carat blue natural sapphire ring from The Natural Sapphire Company.
Jessalyn Gilsig, who stars as Terri Schuester on Glee, which won Best Television Series-Comedy or Musical, wore sapphire jewelry from Chopard (shown below). Gilsig had white gold teardrop earrings with 53 carats of multi-colored sapphires and a floral bracelet with an astonishing 282 carats of pink sapphires set in white and rose gold.
Christina Aguilera, who stars in Burlesque, which was nominated for Best Motion Picture-Comedy or Musical, wore jewelry with numerous rubies from Lorraine Schwartz. Christina wore two platinum ruby rings and a ruby and diamond blackened platinum ring with bracelet attached.

After much confusion and delay over the past year, model Heidi Klum will be returning to television as the host with a sixth season of “Project Runway”. For the past five seasons, “Project Runway” aired on NBC Universal’s Bravo network and took place in New York. Not anymore! The show’s producers, The Weinstein Company settled a lawsuit with NBC Universal and agreed to pay an undisclosed amount for the right to move their show to Lifetime. “Project Runway” didn’t only change their television station, but their on-set location to Los Angeles, from its previous location in New York. Season six is set to premiere on Thursday, August 20, 2009 on Lifetime Television with guest judge, actress Nicole Kidman. This season will feature guest judges such as Christina Aguilera, Eva Longoria Parker, and Lindsay Lohan. The Heidi Klum Jewelry Collection® includes many pieces of different sapphire earrings, pendants, and rings that showcase her signature clover design. While Heidi’s jewelry is nice, we prefer a more elegant and one of a kind pieces as you would find at The Natural Sapphire Company.
