Since its establishment in 1944, the Golden Globe Awards have been a place to wear exquisite and expensive jewelry. The 2011 Golden Globe Awards, which were held last night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, had its fair share of elegant and opulent jewelry pieces adorned by actors and actresses alike. Although many of the attendants wore jewelry with diamonds, few wore sapphire jewelry. Tina Fey, Jessalyn Gilsig, and Christina Aguilera were among the few who were seen wearing sapphire jewelry at the glamorous event.

Tina Fey, who was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series-Comedy or Musical for 30 Rock wore sapphire jewelry from Lorraine Schwartz. Tina wore diamond and blue sapphire blackened platinum earrings with 40-carat pear shaped sapphire drops (shown below), a 60-carat diamond and blue sapphire platinum bracelet, and a 12-carat blue sapphire blackened platinum ring. The third installment in the Twilight movie saga, Eclipse won four People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday night in Los Angeles. Eclipse came through with the PCA’s for Favorite Movie, Favorite Drama Movie, and Favorite On-Screen Team. Kristen Stewart was named Favorite Movie Actress for her role as Bella Swan. She attended the awards show with boyfriend and co-star Robert Pattinson, while fellow co-star Taylor Lautner attended the event as well. Both Rob and Taylor were nominated for Favorite Movie Actor and Favorite Movie Star Under 25, but they lost in both categories to Johnny Depp and Zac Efron, respectively. Stewart was surprised in her win as she beat Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston.

Recently, Christina Aguilera was spotted wearing a new ring, but according to People Magazine it is not an engagement ring. The ring was given to her by her boyfriend of three months, Matt Rutler, a production assistant. Matt gave Aguilera the ring for her birthday, which was on December 18th. The couple met while Christina was filming Burlesque. Christina, 30, was married to music producer Jordan Bratman for five years, until their divorce in October 2010. Aguilera and Bratman have a two-year-old son Max together.

According to a source, it is very important to Christina that Max and Matt would get along well. Therefore, Christina introduced her son to Matt on an outing to the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. The source said, “Christina took Max on the fun outing so he could bond with Matt.” The couple celebrated Christina’s birthday and New Year’s Eve together at her Beverly Hills home with the singer’s friends and family.

Reese Witherspoon, 34, is engaged to boyfriend Jim Toth. Jim, 40, is a Hollywood agent for Creative Artists Agency in Los Angeles. Witherspoon’s children, Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7, who she had with her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe of seven years, enjoy spending time with Jim and they get along great. The couple began dating in January and apparently the How Do You Know actress knows very well when she’s in love. After her divorce in 2007, Reese dated Jake Gyllenhaal for two years, but they broke up in November of 2009. Natalie Portman, 29, has announced her engagement to choreographer Benjamin Millepied and that they are expecting a child. Natalie and Benjamin met during the production of Black Swan, in which Natalie played the lead role of ballerina Nina Sayers in the ballet of “Swan Lake”. Her fiancé played the role of David, one of the male ballet dancers in the psychological thriller. Recently, Portman told Entertainment Weekly, “I have always kept my private life private but I will say that I am indescribably happy and feel very grateful to have this experience.” This will be the first child and the first marriage for Portman. Natalie has received numerous nominations including a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Golden Globe for her role in the film. Rumor has it that she may be nominated for an Academy Award as well, and is on the cover of EW’s Oscar Race issue.

After much confusion and delay over the past year, model Heidi Klum will be returning to television as the host with a sixth season of “Project Runway”. For the past five seasons, “Project Runway” aired on NBC Universal’s Bravo network and took place in New York. Not anymore! The show’s producers, The Weinstein Company settled a lawsuit with NBC Universal and agreed to pay an undisclosed amount for the right to move their show to Lifetime. “Project Runway” didn’t only change their television station, but their on-set location to Los Angeles, from its previous location in New York.  Season six is set to premiere on Thursday, August 20, 2009 on Lifetime Television with guest judge, actress Nicole Kidman.
